PlumFest Hits High Note for Community Support with $1,250 Donation to Our Neighbors’ Table

NEWBURYPORT, MA – PlumFest, the annual community music festival held on Plum Island, is proud to announce a donation of $1,250 to Our Neighbors’ Table, a regional leader in the fight against food insecurity. The contribution reflects PlumFest’s ongoing mission to use the power of music and community to support vital local organizations.

Our Neighbors’ Table (ONT) offers more than food—they create a caring and respectful community for people facing hunger. In 2025, ONT helped 6,900 people and gave out 2.5 million meals in the Lower Merrimack Valley. Their advocacy also helped local families get $90,000 in SNAP benefits, giving the region an important safety net.

“We are honored to be able to support the truly important work done by Our Neighbors’ Table and their team of dedicated volunteers who help feed our neighbors in need,” said Shannon Kinney, President of PlumFest. “PlumFest has always been about bringing neighbors together, and there is no organization that embodies that spirit of neighborly care more than ONT.”

Our Neighbors’ Table runs free grocery markets in Amesbury and Salisbury, offers weekly community meals, and helps people with SNAP benefits. They have also grown to include markets in Groveland, Merrimac, and Salisbury, and plan to open a new spot in Georgetown in 2026.
ONT is also the Seacoast regional food hub. Their 10,000-square-foot facility, which has commercial refrigeration, freezers, dry storage, and trucking access, acts as a main center for other food banks in the area. This helps make sure fresh and shelf-stable food gets to people who need it quickly and efficiently.

The donation was presented by Shannon Kinney to Our Neighbors’ Table Community and Corporate Engagement Manager, Leanne Cavallaro, alongside a group of dedicated volunteers who make the organization’s daily operations possible.
