Happy Free Speech Week from the NCM Hub!
Community media embodies the value of free speech by ensuring that all have access to necessary resources to share their voice and to be well-informed community members. The NCM Hub acknowledges the importance of freedom of speech to its services and operations.
Early this week, on October 20th, was Community Media Day, a part of Free Speech Week that directly recognizes the contributions of public access television and community radio.
Today is #CommunityMediaDay! Community Media:
📣 amplifies local dialogue
⬆️ increases discourse on policy issues
🤝 fosters understanding of local cultures
🔁 shares information to improve our lives

🇺🇸 Happy (belated) Constitution Week & Citizenship Day! ✍️
In September, the United States federally observes Constitution Day and Citizenship Day. Since 1952, Constitution Day recognizes the September 17th, 1787 date when the Constitutional Convention signed and adopted the U.S. Constitution in Philadelphia. Citizenship Day recognizes those who have chosen to become U.S. citizens.
Federal law mandates that all publicly funded educational institutions and federal agencies provide educational programming on the history of the Constitution on September 17th. Today, the American president still issues a traditional Presidential Proclamation.
