Post Storm Snow Removal Plan

Parking ban will be lifted at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 24, 2026

The Department of Public Services is dealing with the aftermath of a strong and long-duration coastal storm that brought 12-18 inches of snow with high winds and deep snow drifts. Due to the amount of snow the City has received so far this season, snow removal operations have been challenging. The following outlines a plan for clearing, street widening, and snow hauling.

Tuesday, February 24
• Sidewalks will be cleared to allow opening of schools and public buildings on Wednesday, February 25
• The Parking Ban will be lifted at 10 am, giving residents until 10 pm to move cars out of municipal lots
• Municipal lots will be cleared overnight

Wednesday, February 25
• We are tracking another daytime storm which may impede the plan below, we will adjust and revise this communication in response to the storm
• A Parking Ban will be re-issued for three nights, overnight only starting at 9 pm, to allow widening of streets and hauling of snow (night 1 of 3)
• Downtown streets will be cleared as well as priority streets for emergency vehicle access and constraints
• Snow will be hauled to Cherry Hill parking lots while more space is made available at Cashman Park

Thursday, February 26
• A Parking Ban will be re-issued for three nights, overnight only starting at 9 pm, to allow widening of streets and hauling of snow (night 2 of 3)
• Downtown streets will be cleared (night 2 of 2 if necessary) with more street widening to ensure emergency vehicle access and increased parking
• Snow will be hauled to Cherry Hill parking lots while more space is made available at Cashman Park
