The Packet Post Introducing the Healthcare Reinvestment Act

Introducing the Healthcare Reinvestment Act

Dear Friends,

This administration has its priorities exactly backwards. They have slashed funding for health insurance while massively increasing funding for ICE operations. Americans want affordable healthcare —not masked men disappearing their neighbors.

That’s why this week I introduced the Healthcare Reinvestment Act, which would rescind the $75 billion surge of ICE funding enacted under the so-called “One Big Beautiful Bill” and redirect those taxpayer dollars to extend ACA premium tax credits that lower healthcare costs for millions of Americans. This bill is pretty simple: to make sure your tax dollars should go toward keeping your healthcare costs low before they go towards expanding harmful government overreach.

Trump’s “One Big Beautiful Bill,” nearly tripled funding for ICE—giving them tens of billions more dollars at a time when many families are dealing with rising healthcare costs. The Enhanced ACA tax credits cost approximately $25–35 billion per year. That means that the $75 billion increase to the ICE budget would pay for almost 3 full years of lower healthcare costs alone.

We need to stop wasteful government overreach and state-sponsored violence in our streets and instead invest in healthcare and the wellbeing of Americans everywhere. This bill does just that.

All the best,

Rep. Seth Moulton
Member of Congress
Massachusetts’ District Six
