Cross Connection Control Program For Non-Residential Buildings
The Newburyport Water Department has contracted with Water Safety Services, a local firm specializing in cross connection control. A Cross Connection Control Program is a federal and state required safe drinking water program that is the responsibility of each public water supplier. The program is designed to ensure the public water supply remains pure, clean, and safe to drink for all users on the supply. Starting in January 2026, surveyors from Water Safety Services will be conducting site visits at all non-residential property on the Newburyport Water Supply. Surveyors will need access to water utility rooms and plumbing areas. The survey should not take long and is designed to be minimally intrusive.
