City of Newburyport Food Drive to Support Residents Losing SNAP Benefits

Mayor Reardon and the City of Newburyport will be collecting food and other non-perishable items for the First Parish Newbury Food Pantry to support local residents who are losing their SNAP benefits. We invite all to participate and help make a difference in our community.

· Collection Locations: Lobby of City Hall, Lobby of the Newburyport Public Library and the Lobby of the Senior/Community Center (Toilet Paper & Paper Towels only at this location)

· Collection Period: Bins will be set up in the lobby starting today, October 29th. The food drive will be ongoing throughout the coming weeks.

· Delivery: Donations will be delivered each Thursday to the First Parish Food Pantry in Newbury

· Items Needed:

Hearty soups

Beef, chicken and vegetable broth

Baked beans

Canned hams, corned beef hash, Spam

Canned pasta with meat

Knorr and Uncle Ben’s rice and pasta sides

Quik bread, muffin and cake mixes

Coffee and tea products (ground, instant, decaf)

Canned pumpkin and other canned pie fillings

Pie crust mix

Gravy mixes

Cranberry sauce

Stuffing

Toilet paper, Paper Towels & Tissues
