Newburyport Voting Options

There is mail-in voting and early voting for the local election (November 4th).

Mail-in ballot request cards are only mailed by the state when there are state-wide elections.

For local elections, you must request a mail-in ballot.

To receive a mail-in ballot, you can request one online through this link at the Secretary of the Commonwealth’s website

https://www.sec.state.ma.us/MailInRequestWeb/MailInBallot.aspx,

or an application can be mailed to you from the Clerk’s office, or an application can be picked up in the Clerk’s office.

The last day to request a ballot by mail is Tuesday, October 28th at 5:00pm.

In-person early voting in Newburyport for the November 4, 2025 Biennial Municipal Election is available from Saturday, October 25 through Friday, October 31, 2025, at the Senior/Community Center.

In-Person Early Voting Schedule
Saturday, Oct. 25, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Monday, Oct. 27, 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Tuesday, Oct. 28, 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Wednesday, Oct. 29, 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Thursday, Oct. 30, 8:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.
Friday, Oct. 31, 8:30 to 11:30 a.m.

For those who do not vote early, Election Day is Tuesday, November 4, 2025, with polling locations open from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
