Paula Estey on the PEG Center’s Community Read: The Future We Choose
This week I have the pleasure of speaking with a returning and always welcome guest, Paula Estey, Founder and Executive Director of the PEG Center, a creative hub for social change, She’ll be discussing the launch of a community-wide book read featuring Christiana Figueres and Tom Rivett-Carnac’s book, The Future We Choose: The Stubborn Optimist’s Guide to the Climate Crisis.
I will talk with Paula about the impetus for the read, the selection of this volume, and the impact she hopes the reading will have on unifying our community to reflect upon and translate learning into meaningful local action. She will also discuss the role of the PEG Center’s new leadership group, The PEG Pioneers, in facilitating discussions, workshops, and action projects.
Paula will describe what participants can expect at the kick off event for the read to be held on Wednesday, October 30, 6–8 p.m. at Newburyport City Hall Auditorium. The public is invited to register at www.thepegcenter.org. Each registered participant will receive a free copy of the book.
