NEWBURYPORT CULTURAL COUNCIL INVITES GRANT PROPOSALS
The Newburyport Cultural Council (NCC) is pleased to announce that funding for
community-oriented Arts, History, Environment and Science programs will be available
again for the Grant Cycle of 2026.
In the 2026 Funding cycle we are looking for in projects:
to encompass, promote the “spirit of Newburyport”
be innovative and community building
be arts, science or both arts and science focused
cover impactful issues that affect our community
“We also seek to elevate organizations with a passion for sharing arts and cultural
programs for our multitude of generations in our community.” states Pat Cannon, Chair
of the NCC.
The NCC further hopes to expand the annual pool of grant applicants and will support
applications that demonstrate innovation and new perspectives.
Applications have been posted at the Massachusetts Cultural Council (MCC) website
and are due on October 16, 2025. Additional information regarding state and local
criteria will also be found at the Newburyport City website –

The Massachusetts Cultural Council (MCC) provides grant money to 329 Local Cultural
Councils serving all cities and towns in the Commonwealth. This year the MCC will
spend over $26.2 million in support of cultural grants.
Past NCC grants have supported a wide variety of projects and activities in the city and
nearby towns, including exhibits, festivals, concerts, films and videos, workshops,
lectures and performances for all.
The Newburyport Cultural Council is the foundation for collaboration and state sourced
funding in our community. We are actively seeking members that are passionate about
our arts in Newburyport. We provide yearly funding to entities that support cultural
programs for our community, as well as support for additional projects like Aaron T.
Stephan’s “Sail Trace” sculpture on the Newburyport Market Landing Park.
