This Week on the “Morning Show”:
The Essex Junta: Newburyport and the 3 World Wars with Author David Brody
This week I’m looking forward to speaking with Newburyport resident and 12-time Amazon #1 Bestselling fiction writer David S. Brody about his newest book, The Essex Junta; Newburyport and the 3 World Wars.
Set in Newburyport, the novel features numerous local sites including Cashman Park, Plum Island, the Newburyport Public Library, Chain Bridge, and Loretta’s Restaurant, among others.
An avid researcher and former Director of the New England Antiquities Research Association, Brody describes his novels as Faction, blending historical source materials with the elements of a mystery and thriller..
Essex Junta is the 19th entry in Brody’s Templars in America Series, although it can be read as a stand alone novel. He will talk about the research he did on numerous Newburyport historical locations that figure in the novel, including the Lord Timothy Dexter house and the Museum of Old Newbury.
Brody will also describe the historical basis for his novel’s plot, which involves the discovery of Civil War era documents that reveal a plot by wealthy New England families, with ties to Freemasonry and Yale’s secretive Skull and Bones Society, to foment discord between North and South, to orchestrate two world wars and possibly bring about a third in order to consolidate power and bring about a new world order.
