This Week on the “Morning Show”
Eagle Restoration with Author Tina Morris

Newburyport, home of the Eagle Festival each February, has reason to be grateful to this week’s guest, Tina Morris, Boxford resident and author of the recently published book “Return to the Sky: the Surprising Story of How One Woman and Seven Eaglets Helped Restore the Bald Eagle.”

Tina will talk about the pioneering work she performed in 1975, on the eve of the US Bicentennial, playing “mother” to seven eagles at the Montezuma National Wildlife Refuge near Seneca Falls, NY, in the hope that the eagles — whose population in the Northeast had plummeted — could repopulate eastern North America. Her project succeeded, and her field research became the instruction manual for eagle restoration programs in other states.

Tina will also talk about her induction as an honorary Iroquois in the Confederacy of Six Nations for her work restoring Bald Eagles.
