The Newburyport Public Library is hosting an upcoming program! Check out
all the events we are hosting on our website.
Tuesday, August 27th at 6:30 pm: History of Silent Movies (IN-PERSON).
Come take a look at newsreels, cartoons, early comedy, historical drama,
serial thrillers, slap-stick comedy featuring Harold Lloyd and Charlie
Chaplin plus sight gags and chase scenes done by the king of sight gags,
Buster Keaton … all presented with narration and musical accompaniment
by pianist Richard Hughes. Plus – animation devices and sound effects for
audience members to synchronize to a melodrama from 1913!
