I’ll speak with Dave Fortier, founder and President of the nonprofit One World Strong Foundation, on this week’s show.
A Plum Island resident who was injured in the 2013 Boston Marathon bombing, Dave founded the non-profit with the goal of building a diverse international community of survivors affected by terrorism, hate crimes, or other traumatic events, thereby enabling individuals to connect with and support one another during their healing journey.
Dave and I will talk about how One World has expanded and evolved since its founding to meet the changing and growing needs of survivors both domestically and globally.
He will also talk about his travels to Ukraine and what he learned about the impact of the war on people’s lives; what he hopes Americans will come to understand better about the need for aid and support; and how the ongoing need “isn’t just about weapons and tanks.”
