This Week’s “Morning Show” Features:

Elizabeth Marcus and Margaret Thomas Tell You Everything You Need to Know about:
The Repair Cafe

Elizabeth Marcus and Margaret Thomas, Newburyport residents and organizers of the upcoming Repair Café to be held at the Senior Center from 10 AM – 2 PM on April 27th, will visit the show this week to talk about about the service provided by the Repair Café. They will clarify what kind of items such as clothing, bikes, small appliances, and jewelry, among others, can be brought in to be repaired for free by a group of volunteer repairers. They’ll also let you know what not to bring.

If you hang out and watch your item being repaired, you may by able to learn how to do it yourself in the future — heck, you may even become a volunteer repairer at the next cafe. But you can also wait in the Senior Center lounge if you prefer.

Elizabeth and Margaret will discuss why the Café’s sponsoring organizations, the Time Trade Network of Greater Newburyport and the City of Newburyport’s Toward Zero Waste initiative, believe the Repair café has important and positive environmental impacts, and why they think participating in the café can be both fun and a bonding experience for the community.
