Newburyport’s Energy Advisory Committee
This week I have the opportunity to speak with Michael Strauss, Chair of Newburyport’s Energy Advisory Committee (EAC), and Committee member William Clary about the origin story of the EAC. Mike and Bill will explain their mission and give examples of how and when make recommendations to the Mayor regarding energy conservation, energy efficiency, and/or conversion to greener energy services.
Mike and Bill will also discuss the EAC’s terrific new Energize Newburyport interactive website, whose motto is, “Taking on climate change, one Newburyport household at a time.” I’ve visited the website and found it to be full of ideas on how to “green” your home and our community, and the interactive feature lets you evaluate how your own household is doing.
