History teacher Anthony Guerriero will visit the show this week to talk about the legacy of bestselling author and award-winning American historian David McCullough, who died in 2022 at the age of 89 at his home in Hingham, MA.

A favorite and frequent guest on the show, Anthony in the past has shone a light on the achievements, motives, and minds of prominent figures ranging from Thomas Jefferson and Ted Williams to WWII spy Mo Berg.
This time, he will illuminate what sets McCullough’s work apart from other historians, and will explore the impact of his research and writing on figures ranging from John Adams and Harry Truman to the Wright Brothers and Theodore Roosevelt, among many others.

McCullough was twice awarded both the Pulitzer Prize and the National Book Award. As his New York Times obituary put it, “His research was deep, his writing was lively, and his narrator’s voice in documentary films was familiar to millions.”
