Author Tim Madigan Visits ‘Morning Show”

Tim Madigan, journalist and author of the critically acclaimed and
NYTimes bestselling book, “The Burning: The Tulsa Race Massacre of 1921”
will visit ‘The Morning Show’ on April 7 th to preview his presentation for the
Newburyport Literary Festival on Sunday, May 1 st at 11:30 AM.
Considered by many to be the definitive account of the Tulsa Race
Massacre, “The Burning” narrates the events leading up to and including
the annihilation of Tulsa’s prosperous Greenwood neighborhood, known at
the time as the “Negro Wall Street”; and documents the subsequent silence
that surrounded the tragic and brutal destruction.
The “Library Journal” described “The Burning” as “an eye-opening
book…essential reading for anyone struggling to understand race relations
in America.”
The “Arizona Daily Star” wrote that Madigan’s “story of Greenwood is
written in such chilling detail and clarity that one can almost smell the
smoke and hear the cries. This is historical reporting at its best.”
