The mask mandate for all indoor establishments and venues open to the public within the City is lifted as of 2/17/2022.

On Thursday, February 17, 2022, the Newburyport Board of Health voted to remove its mask order requiring the wearing of a mask in all indoor establishments and venues open to the public within the city. Schools are still subject to the DESE requirements for masking through February 28, 2022. The School Committee will make further announcements regarding school masking.

With the pandemic still ongoing, the Board of Health recommends that vulnerable populations continue to wear high quality masks in public spaces, and to receive a booster shot if they have not already.
