Bystander Intervention Featured on “Morning Show”

Paula Estey, Debbie Hart-Klein, and Maria Chanin of the Women in Action Huddle will visit the “Morning Show” on September 9th to discuss the free “Bystander Intervention Training” they will bring to Newburyport on September 23rd.
Host Mary Jacobsen will interview these three members of the Strategic Team organizing the event about the training’s sponsor, Hollaback, a global, people-powered movement to end harassment in all its forms. Hollaback’s goal is to teach people to take action and reach across differences to form a united front against harassment.
The team will talk about why they decided to bring Hollaback to Newburyport, and how they hope the community will benefit from learning Hollaback’s methodology for intervention, including new tools to end harassment; knowing how to assess your own safety in order to discern whether it’s the right decision to intervene; and how to build resilience as an individual, community, and society.
The Bystander Intervention Training will be offered at the Senior Center from 7 – 8:30 p.m. on Thursday, September 23rd. Those who prefer may attend via Zoom at https://us02web.zoom.us/j/81426094723.
“The Morning Show” airs Thursday at 9 a.m. on Channel 9 and WJOP (FM 96.3) and live streams on YouTube (click on YouTube at NCMHub.org). After broadcast, look on the YouTube Playlist for “The Morning Show.” Each show is also available on the Sound Cloud (click on the cloud at NCMHub.org).
