Amesbury, MA – The 35th Annual Meeting of the Amesbury Carriage Museum will be held online via zoom on Monday, September 14.  The program begins at 5:30 pm and will feature a conversation the Dan Yaeger, executive director of the New England Museum Association (NEMA) about the Future of Museums in New England. Following the conversation, there will be a brief business meeting and update about the Amesbury Carriage Museum and progress in developing the Industrial History Center. This is a free event – pre-registration to receive the zoom link by September 13 is requested.  

 

Mr. Yaeger will share his view of the status and future of the New England museum community.  As executive director of NEMA, Dan is in daily contact with museum directors, trustees, funders and other museum professionals. “COVID 19 has dramatically affected museums.” says Yaeger, “more than ever, these cultural organizations are vital contributors to their communities.”  “This program is extremely timely,” says John Mayer, ACM Executive Director, “We are delighted to have Dan with us to generate enthusiasm and confidence in our work building a museum.”  

 

In addition, the Annual Meeting is a time for Carriage Museum leadership to celebrate recent accomplishments and to present plans for the coming year.  New Board members will be introduced as well.  Most important, there will be a report about the development of the Industrial History Center.  Construction is underway and the museum leadership is raising funds for this important project.

 

The event is free, but preregistration by September 13 is required. To register people are asked to log on to amesburycarriagemuseum.org/events and complete the registration form.  They will receive a program with login information. One lucky participant will receive a $75 gift certificate to Ristorante Molise in Amesbury.
